The Tool History
The adjustable spanner was invented in the UK 1841 by Joseph Stubs, and has since then undergone a lot of changes. Soon after Stubs, two more well known inventors entered the spanner scene, namly Edwin Beard Budding and Richard Clyburn. Clyburns design resembles the designs most, that we are familiar with today.
